The Planned Events Listing all started when a bunch of event organisers got together and actually argued about which weekend they were going to hold their respective events. Some clashed where the organisers of one event wanted to go to another event held on the same weekend. So a small voice said "So why don't we have a list? Then we will know when the other events are being held and hopefully organise so that we don't clash like this again..."

Thus the PEL was born back in 1998. The rest, they say, is history.

The origingal list was hosted on Smurf's site www.mage.co.uk, and many thanks go to him for being so patient with all my pesky queries. The Planned Events Listing now has its' own dedicated website and thanks go to Smurf and to Andy for their invaluable help.

Thanks are also due to all the event organisers who ask to put their details up on these humble pages, and to those people who use these pages to find out about upcoming events. There is little feedback, but it's always positive. If it wasn't for you all there would be no listing to speak of.
